THIS IS A COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY POSITION, LOCATED ONSITE (full time) in the Seattle, Regional area. There is a potential opportunity upon completion of the project(s) closeout, to remain onboard as a permanent employee working out of our Seattle divisional office.

THE OPPORTUNITY
The Onsite Project Assistant is a key organizer of Steel Encounters construction project management team. Experience in the Washington State/Seattle area is an essential requirement. Primary functions will be to collaborate, coordinate and communicate day to day site activities. They will support and maintain directives of Steel Encounters' project team of Estimators, Engineers, Quality Assurance, Safety Specialists, Fabricators, and Installation professionals. They will work closely with the project management team and site foreman to maintain oversight on site consumable and to facilitate their constant/consistent resupply. They will support in tracking the project schedule, interacting with the local union OAC site teams, internal departments, equipment, project documentation, safety, and site logistics planning. They will be an advocate and ambassador of the company’s culture.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Schedule: Project Engineer/Assistant and onsite foreman with communication and follow-up on project milestones and goals. They will implement and maintain project schedules through design-assist, engineering, detailing, procurement, fabrication, and installation to meet contractual requirements.
  • Assist PM and onsite foreman develop project-specific logic for material procurement and packaging, site logistics, hoisting, and equipment to efficiently manage onsite installation labor.
  • Assist PM with daily document control: field observation reports, progress photos, contractor meeting minutes, material receiving, etc.
  • Engineering and Detailing: Provide input into the development of air and vapor barriers, rain screen support structures and fenestration system designs to create ease of installation and long-term façade performance. Coordinate with detailers and engineers for efficient anchor, substructure and reinforcement designs and final stamped calculations.
  • Procurement: Support PM in the collection and submission of complete product submittals per project specifications. Coordinate procurement based on approved submittals, material take-offs, project sequencing and delivery requirements.
  • Budget: Assist PM with maintaining all aspects of the project budget including material procurement, labor tracking, change orders, and monthly progress billings; provide valuable insight on how to help bring projects in under budget.
  • Quality Assurance: Coordinate with Quality Assurance Professionals to ensure product installation details and instructions are properly turned over to fabrication and installation teams with specific project quality assurance plan
  • Safety: Coordinate with Safety Manager to ensure project safety plan complies with contractual requirements and that high-risk activities are identified and mitigated

QUALIFICATION

  • MUST HAVE experience in the Washington State Commercial Construction, glazing, building façade, panel industry
  • Preferred qualification, but not required, Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent work experience
  • Proficient in scheduling software, such as Primavera P6 or MS Project
  • Knowledgeable with Blue Beam, Procore, or similar software
  • Shows initiative and takes accountability for the outcome of decisions
  • Collaborate effectively with company and project team
  • Responsible and professional in approach to work
  • Showing pride in your work by being concerned about the details and making sure the work is done correctly and completely
  • Shows good judgment in decision-making

WAGES & BENEFITS

  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan/401k Profit Share
  • Salary is $60,000 to $85,000 based on experience and education
  • Annual bonus based on goal achievement
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidays (8 per year)
