We are looking for a qualified Human Resources & Payroll Coordinator that will be responsible for weekly and bi-weekly payroll processes, benefits management and reconciliations, and employee lifecycle. This position is in-person located in our Salt Lake City, Utah office.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain employee records including new hire setup, W4/W2 updates, direct deposit changes, PTO tracking, and benefit deductions
  • Support payroll processing by assisting with weekly payroll, compiling and validating time card data, calculating pay adjustments, and entering payroll information into the payroll system
  • Process payroll withholding and deductions, such as taxes, benefits, garnishments, child support orders, hardship loans, and retirement contributions, ensuring accurate payments and reporting.
  • Coordinate Benefits including benefit premium reconciliations, 401(k) funding and reporting, and assisting with benefit account reconciliations to ensure proper deductions. Work with employees to understand their benefits and options.
  • Maintain organization and compliance and by organizing personnel and payroll files, retaining records, and assisting with communications and coordination.
  • Onboard and off-board employees in the system and help them understand their benefits, PTO, and pay as they transition into and out of employment with Steel Encounters.

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 2-3 years of payroll/HR experience to qualify for higher pay within range
  • Attention to detail and customer service minded
  • Strong Microsoft Excel capabilities
  • Ability to understand own limitations and proactively seek help from subject matter experts
  • Highly organized and methodical
  • Spanish fluency is a plus
